Wordy Wednesday – Happy Birthday, KINGDOM COME

KINGDOM COME is the story of a girl who was always told she was crazy. That she wasn’t, and never would be, normal. A girl who had lost hope in the world – until that world crumbled around her.

It’s the story of a group of teens who were constantly told they’d never amount to anything. Teens that spent their lives being beaten by parents, or scarring their own bodies in an attempt to escape the pain of depression. Teens that never imagined they would have a future.

It’s a story of hope. Of survival. Of realizing that there is good in the world, and it’s something worth fighting for.

Happy book birthday to my little story. I hope you guys love it just as much as I do. ❤

Wordy Wednesday

Wordy Wednesday is baaaaaack! At least, it is for this week. But I imagine I’ll be back again next week because it may or may not be RELEASE WEEK.

So. We are officially one week away from KINGDOM COME’s birthday, and I thought I’d share a few of my favorite quotes from the book with you guys. It was a little difficult because a lot of my favorites are a bit spoilery. But here, we have three of my favorite quotes from KC:

*bounces* I’m so excited, you guys.

Also, I have a giveaway over on Goodreads for a FREE print copy of KC: http://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/show/52518-kingdom-come.

Here’s to hoping y’all have an awesome day, and rest of the week!

Sing-Along Sunday

We’re less than two weeks away. Let the nail-biting commence, y’all. I love this story so much, and I truly hope you guys will, too.

This week wraps up the Countdown to KINGDOM COME segment of Sing-Along Sunday, and I thought it’d be fitting to post a song that fits not only with this book, but its sequel, as well.

“I will be a revolution. Be a voice beyond these lies . . . if it takes my life.” Sing it, Kerrigan.

Sing-Along Sunday

I can’t believe that we’re just over two weeks away from release day!

The Fray can do no wrong in my book. “Be Still” actually plays a HUGE part in KINGDOM COME’s sequel, but it was also worn out while I wrote KC.

I hope you guys have a great week!

Sing-Along Sunday

Hi everyone!

This week’s song is brought to you thanks to my husband and his awesome taste in music. “Iridescent” was actually featured in one of the Transformers movies, but I’d forgotten all about it until I heard it on my husband’s playlist in the car one morning. The rest, as they say, is history. 😉

We’re hitting the home stretch here, guys. Just a little over three weeks to go!

Sing-Along Sunday

So. This song. It gives me a lot of feelings.

I have a lot of fun with the relationship between Kerrigan and Ethan, but KINGDOM COME is not a love story. It’s a story of having hope, even at the darkest of times. Of witnessing everyone you love being ripped from the world far too soon, and having faith that the goodness in the world will prevail, even when its very core seems shattered.

Shattered. Yeah, that sounds about right.

“All is lost, hope remains, and this war’s not over.”

Also, there may very well be a nifty giveaway over on Twitter this week. Stay tuned! 🙂

Sing-Along Sunday

Orrrr Musical Monday? Sorry guys. My internet was wonky yesterday. BUT I’m back, with a brand-new song from the KINGDOM COME playlist.

5 weeks, y’all. 5 WEEKS.

This song was on The Hunger Games soundtrack, and I just thought it fit perfectly. I really have no idea why I haven’t shared it yet, because it’s like she’s singing directly to Kerrigan. (Sorry Katniss. Can I borrow the song just this once? Please?)

Sing-Along Sunday

Good morning guys! I feel like it’s been forever since I posted, even though it’s only been 2 weeks. This week brings you a little Fall Out Boy. They’re a group I listen to whenever I write/edit Bennett’s scenes because I like to imagine he has their music on repeat all day.

Yes, my villain has awesome taste in music. He has to have something going for him, right?

Have a great week!

Sing-Along Sunday

We’re back with another song that inspired a few special moments between Kerrigan and Ethan. A few special tear-jerking moments, to be more specific. But I’ll let you guys see what I mean because NINE WEEKS.

Sorry. Tad excited.

Sing-Along Sunday

Ten weeks until KINGDOM COME, y’all. TEN WEEKS. Just sayin’.

Up next on the countdown is a song that shatters my heart into a million pieces. I played it on repeat during a certain scene about midway through the book, which I won’t spoil. I will say that I now cry like a baby every time I hear this song.
